TERRITORIAL IDENTITIES OF EUROPE
The basic layer for the European territorial palimpsest is provided by its historical regions, upon which (the boundaries of) (administrative) regions, (sovereign) states and/or (international) macro-regions are constructed, generally overlapping each other and occurring simultaneously at different levels of identification.
IdEnt lists and describes those territorially defined (id)entities of Europe – including information on the organizations with a territorial [id]entity at the heart of their remit.

In the current first stage of production, an 'abecedarian' list is being drawn up – with only occasionally an entry promoted to the 'basic' stage; also the help pages (maps, search, guide) are momentarily only available in a skeleton version.
So, none of the content on this website is already fit for purpose...!
